Kotak Securities Charges: Trade Free Pro Plan

There is a range of Kotak Securities brokerage charges under its trade free pro plan.

Account opening/ subscription charges

In this plan account opening charges are zero but you have to pay Rs. 249+GST subscription charges every month. And the highlight of this Plan is that here you get margin trade funding at a lucrative interest rate of 9.75% per annum.

Brokerage charges

  • Under this plan, you get stock delivery trades at the cost of 0.1% of transaction value with no upper cap. So the plan is not recommended for Long Term investors. Kotak Securities Charges; Dealer Assisted Plan

There is a range of Kotak Securities brokerage charges under its trade free pro plan.

Account Opening/ Subscription Charges

Account opening charge is zero but one time fee of Rs. 499+gst has to be paid as subscription charges. Switching Fee for existing customers is also Rs. 499 + gst. But i dont see any potential reason for exisitng customers to switch into this plan. keep reading.

Brokerage charges

  • Under dealer assisted plan, kotak securities charges 0.39% of transaction value or 21 rupee (whichever is higher), brokerage in delivery for equity and commodity assets.
  • for Equity intraday the charges are same as delivery i.e. 0.39% or Rs. 21 whichever is higher. Please note here that these charges are applied on “whichever is higher” basis, which means Rs.21 is the minimum charge per order. Whereas all other discount brokers, even all other brokerage plans of kotak securities itself (explained above) apply these charges on “whichever is lower” which means that Rs. 21 is the maximum charges. That’s why I warned you earlier that I don’t see any benefit in onboarding or switching into this plan.
  • For Equity Futures 0.39% of transaction amount is charged as brokerage.
  • For equity options Rs. 39 per lot brokerage is charged which is also higher because this charge will increase with the no. of lots.
  • Rs. 9 per lot for currency futures and Rs. 5 per lot for Currency Options.
  • For commodity futures 0.039% of transaction amount and Rs. 39 per lot for commodity options is charges.

Conclusion

These charges and comparison of all 4 Brokerage Plans is latest updated on 24th May, 2024 so you can very well rely on them if you are reading in 2024.

Kotak Securities is a trustworthy and renowned broker in india. So I would recommend that traders can choose any of plan explained above as per their need and they can also subscribe to trade free youth plan (best out of these ) if their age allows. Because the free trading facility available for various segments in various plans will decrease their overall cost and increase their chances of profit.

Though I would advice the long term investors to go with zerodha and Angelone. my Affiliate links are given here for Zerodha and Angelone. If you likjed the article you can show support by commenting below.
