Wipro share: On Tuesday, Wipro’s shares went for the bonus issue in a 1:1 ratio. December 3 was announced by the corporation as the Wipro bonus share record date. Bonus shares will be available to all investors who currently own IT stock. One bonus share is equal to one Wipro share because the bonus ratio is 1:1.
In a stock exchange filing on November 21, Wipro stated that the Board of Directors has set Tuesday, December 3, 2024, as the Record Date for determining which equity shareholders of the company are entitled to earn bonus equity shares of the company. In addition to the release of its financial results for the second quarter of FY25, the company announced bonus shares.
Wipro Bonus Shares History:
Based on data on the BSE website, this is the fourth bonus issue by the IT major in the past 15 years. Since 2019, this is the first bonus. In 2019, it issued bonus shares on a 1:3 basis. It indicates that one bonus share was given out for every three shares.
Wipro shares became ex-date on June 13, 2017, for a bonus granted in 2017 with the record date June 14, 2017. The business declared a bonus in the ratio of 1:1. A 2:3 bonus issue, in which two equity shares are granted against three held, was announced by Wipro in 2010. The record date was June 16, 2010, and the ex-date of Wipro’s deal was June 15, 2010.
Returns On Wipro Stock:
- Over the past 15 years, Wipro share price has produced an impressive return. Bonus shares would have caused ₹10,000 to rise exponentially if it had been invested in 2009 at ₹50 per share.
- An investor may have purchased 200 shares of Wipro in 2009 when the share price was ₹50 for a ₹10,000 cash investment. Its shares increased from 200 to 888 by the delivery of three bonus issues, which were 1:1 in 2010, 1:3 in 2017, and 2:3 in 2019.
- On December 2, 2024, Wipro’s share price was ₹584.55, which is a 51.9x return on the investment for the 888 shares valued at ₹5,19,080.
In conclusion:
The present scenario demonstrates the effects of continuous investment in essentially strong businesses. Wealth creation is significantly supported by company actions, such as bonuses, rather than merely an increase in market shares price. A prime example of how patience pays off in the stock market is Wipro.
